This is the vocational area in which my professional career started, and music remains a fundamental part of who I am as opposed to merely what I do. That’s why it is so interesting that it has not been enough…but I’m not the only serious musician who does more than one thing. Stephen Hough also writes and composes. John Eliot Gardiner divides his time between farming and running his multifarious enterprises. They may be internationally renowned, but the principle can be applied to those of us who are less high-profile.

I triangulate across classical, jazz and gospel music as composer/arranger, conductor/MD and pianist (the saxophone is also part of the story). To find out more, click here.
